The Hollywood Diner, Flatiron (4/5)

Tired of the same old "dollar menu" burgers? Cheap and frozen french fries? The City is full of fast-food joints that sacrifice the real deal with the cheap deal. Located at the corner of W16th Street and 6th Ave., just outside my high school, the Hollywood Diner offers an alternative to same old fast-food restaurants.
At my first outing to the Diner, I ordered the "Hollywood Burger Deluxe," a burger with bacon, grilled onions, mushrooms, cheddar cheese, lettuce, tomato, all on a buttered bun and served with fries! For just over $10.00, you get amazing quality with reasonable quantity.

The atmosphere is also quite great. I ate with four other friends of mine, all teenage guys, and we still were able to carry a fun-filled, if somewhat loud, conversation. This is due to the multitude of other people in the diner. The diner was full! The restaurant is also decorated with plenty of movie memorabilia--a great vibe and setting for what is the Hollywood Diner.
For an overall great time with great friends and food, the Hollywood Diner is the place to be. I would gladly return for another meal when I crave for a great quality burger :)

A Salt & Battery, Greenwich Village (4/5)

Coming from a high school in the Flatiron District of the City, I came looking for a place near by that wasn't McDonald's or a pizza joint. I also watched the Food Network, a daily routine. Having watched episodes of Throwdown with Bobby Flay (Bobby Flay used to go to my high school), I found the perfect place for fish and chips...
A Salt & Battery specializes in the cuisines of Great Britain, especially fish and chips! I'll be honest, I've only really tried their fish and chips, but their menu includes so much more! (Fried Mars bars included). For a little over $10.00, you can enjoy authentic fish and chips at a more than substantial portion. What is really unique and complements the fish and chips is their homemade tartar sauce. Tangy and creamy atop crispy and flaky fish and chips, what more could you ask for?
