Hill Country Chicken, Flatiron (5/5)

Why is a Fried Chicken Joint the first 5/5 restaurant I've rated?
Just a little off Madison Square Park,, Hill Country Chicken is home to many southern staples, from their pies to mash potatoes, to FRIED CHICKEN! It is, by far, the best, BEST fried chicken I've had. I'm referring to the spice blend on their original recipe. It's sweet and spicy and just absolute delicious! Also cooked perfectly to the bone, leaving a juicy, flavorful bite!
Still, they also have a skinless, yet still scrumptious, fried chicken. This version has been featured on the Food Network--Mama El's Fried Chicken. Not as sweet and savory, but still crispy and equally appetizing.
Getting to why it is 5/5--the bargain!!! For around $10, you absolutely get a taste of everything. With a choice of 2 pieces of dark meat or 2 pieces of white meat, mash potatoes or mac and cheese (or other side), and a biscuit. This bargain is easily the best I've been to while searching for delectable eats in the city for a great price. If you're around Madison Square Park, be sure to check this place out!
